Gangdong Art Center presents at ‘Wind Flower Yard’. The is an annual special exhibition project of sculptures of Gangdong Art Center. The project intends to provide opportunities that children and family visitors can get novel aesthetic experiences through the sculptures of talented artists who actively build up their career in domestic and international art-fields in the rich season. Lee Ung Bai rejects ‘the art to just look at’ restricted to only visual notions. The artist mainly deals with iron pipes. The pipes are recreated to the expanding form through welding and combining. After that it eventually becomes a vivid colored sculpture which people can play and climb on it. The work that has no distance between its body and the audience's body makes an integral space and new community. Yim Young Hee expresses a form of wave made through a Korean letter meaning ‘thought’. It symbolizes tangled thoughts of people. The group of texts that is flowing on the waving surface remind us of the fundamental value and criteria that we easily forget in modern society. The main theme of the artist, Oh Taewon, is the mystery of water. The artist represents a form of water droplets. The waterdrop's size is enlarged and its surface is wrapped by the sparkling spangles expressing energy of light and vitality of water. Jung Hye Kyung’s stainless steel motorcycle installation presents a pleasant deviation from daily life. The work is inspired from an interview with a folk song singer, Kim Kwang Seok who said “I want to travel around the world on a bike at the age of forty.” Jung Sung Yoon’s installation titled ‘Heavy Dot’ is based on the poem of poet Park Yang Kyun. The huge dot of achromatic color is a symbol of an unstable position, and it maintains a distance from another work titled ‘You’ that means goodness. The combination of two installations implies a concept of isolation and relationship in modern society. Lastly, the images of animals that are wittily portrayed by Lee Kyung Jin and Ah Jae A paradoxically express the fundamental human nature. The formative language created by various experiences and stories of artists conveys the joy and hope of life to us. The purpose of this exhibition is to provide a trip to enjoy visual pleasure with friends or family and have emotional communication away from repeated ordinary days. Gangdong Art Center 강동아트센터는 2014 예술이 흐르는 그린웨이 아트가든展(2014.8.8.~11.2.)이 야외잔디밭 바람꽃마당에 펼쳐진다. 아트가든展은 실내와 야외공간을 활용한 조각전시로 강동아트센터 연간 기획전시 프로그램이다. 풍요로운 계절을 맞아 국내‧외에서 활발하게 활동하고 있는 작가들의 작품은 어린이와 가족단위 관람객에게 일상에서 새로운 미적경험을 체험할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고자 한다. 이웅배 작가는 시각적 사유에 한정된 ‘바라보는 작품’에 반기를 든다. 쇠파이프(배관)를 용접으로 붙이고 확장하는 형태들은 형형색색의 컬러가 입혀져 놀이가 가능한 즐거운 조각으로 탄생한다. 작품과 관람객의 거리가 없는 작품은 서로 융합하는 하나의 공간, ‘공동체’를 만들어 내고 있다. 작가 임영희 작품의 레이저로 커팅한 ‘생각’이라는 글자로 파동하는 수면은 머릿속의 수많은 생각을 상징한다. 물 위를 유영하는 글자는 자칫 잃어버리기 쉬운 삶의 가치와 기준을 제시하고 있다. 오태원 작가는 물이 갖고 있는 신비로움을 주제로 한다. 유동적으로 흐르는 물을 물방울이라는 단편적인 형태로 표현하며 표면의 반짝이는 스팽글로 빛과 물의 생명력을 표현하고 있다. 정혜경 작가의 스테인리스로 만든 오토바이 설치물은 ‘나이 마흔 즘에 바이크를 타고 세계일주를 하고 싶다’는 가수 김광석의 인터뷰를 모티브 한 작품으로 일상 밖으로의 유쾌한 일탈을 제시한다. 정성윤 작가의 무거운 점은 시인 박양균의 시를 바탕으로 제작된 설치물이다. 무채색의 점은 불안정한 거대 ‘입장’을 보여주며 선을 의미하는 ‘you’와 거리를 유지하며 멀어지고 가까워지기를 반복하며 현대사회 속 개인의 고립과 관계를 내포하고 있다. 마지막으로 이경진, 아재아 작가가 위트있게 그려낸 동물들의 모습은 인간 내면의 본성을 역설적으로 표현하고 있다. 작가들의 다양한 경험과 이야기로 만들어 내는 조형언어는 우리에게 삶의 즐거움과 희망을 전달하고 있다. 반복되는 일상에서 벗어나 친구 또는 가족과 시각적 유희를 즐기며 정서적 교감을 갖는 작은 여행이 되길 기대한다. 강동아트센터 이미란
